Byrne & MaguireByrne and Maguire were appointed main ford dealers in 1923, the 11th dealer to be established by Henry Ford and son in Ireland. The company was founded by the Maguire and Byrne families and in 1925, requiring additional capital, my grandfather bought a share in the company. His name was Frank Rogers and his son, my father Aidan ,acquired the company in full in 1979,buying out the Byrne and Maguire families. I am proud to run the business today, the 3rd generation of the Rogers family to do so.

In the 30s 40s and 50s Byrne and Maguire sold tractors and trucks alongside ford cars and also supplied aeroplane parts!!. The petrol pumps on the street outside served all the big fleets of Dundalk and the workshop employed up to
20 men to service their vehicles. Today modern technology reduces the need for such a large workforce but we are still proud to service an garda siochana, the hse and major fleet hire companies in our state of the art workshop. Byrne & MaguireDuring the Second World War, the company manufactured wooden clogs for the war effort, as the supply of cars coming into Ireland collapsed! Frank met with Henry Ford
(and gave his wife a turn around the dance floor in New York!) on a Ford dealer
trip, while Aidan met Henry Ford the second on his visit to Ireland.

Today Byrne and Maguire are the 3rd longest established ford dealership in Ireland and recently won the highly coveted chairman’s award for providing outstanding customer satisfaction. This is a credit to the staff of the company, most of whom have had long careers with us. When you call in we hope you will leave understanding just why we have gone from strength to strength over the last 90 years.

I look forward to seeing you,
Mel Rogers,
Managing Director
